My child attended this school for several months. I spent a lot of time there helping my child transition and I felt that I really got to know many of the teachers. Unfortunately, while some of the teachers are really caring and sweet, it seems that the teachers here are not treated very well and it ends up affecting the teachers' moods and behaviors.
For example, often when children are crying and upset, none of the teachers will try to comfort the child, even if they are available and able to do so. This is true for new children that are in the midst of transitioning as well as "tenured" children. Also, many of the teachers have "favorites" and treat these children much differently than the rest of the kids. I found it so sad that some kids received hugs and kisses while others were left to cry endlessly.
-The staff is not very responsive via email
-The school offers breakfast, lunch, and snack. I have seen that they sometimes run out of food (only 1 banana for a class of 8-10 children) or there wasn't enough for a second helping of a lunch food.
-It is clear that there is tension between the administration and the teachers, which is not comforting.
-Turnover of teachers is high
-Communication from administration is inconsistent and slow
-There was an incident when a teacher left a child behind at a local park. The teacher continued to remain at the school as an employee.
In general, there is a lot of opportunity for improvement at this daycare. Of course, no single option is ever perfect but I think that there are other daycare options out there that could provide a much more positive experience.
